Workshop on the web

I made this woodland floor from a workshop on the web class, they have some wonderful classes on there.

Made after a class at Alexandra palace.

Went to ally pally with my friend Debs and we did a class with Catherine Lawes. I loved the process of hand sewing strips of wool and fabrics to a hessian background.

Holiday in the cotswolds

Spent a lovely week at WillowCottage Paxford.  The Cotswolds are beautiful at this time of the year all the gardens look so fresh. It was a pleasure to pay a visit to the Malvern quilt show as I had not been there for seveal years.  There were some lovely quilts on display,  and lots of unusual traders.

Paint print and stencil

Last week I spent a great day at the Woolpatch gallery in Long Melford doing a class with Alex Waylett. We were trying our hand at paint print and stencil, it was a lovely day and we all gained a lot of information. Several different things were tried such as wallpaper, sequin waste, stencils and rubber moulding mats to get lots of different textures on to the fabric.

Felt Making

I spent a lovely day at Acton Design Centre on Wednesday doing a felt making class with Kris Marriott.
Most of the ladies were making hats and they turned out really great but not being much of a hat person I tried my hand at flat felting and I am deciding what to turn the felt into!!!
I am attending two more felting classes with Kris as it was such an interesting day.
Acton design centre has only been open a short while but it is a lovely venue and a beautiful shop with lots of interesting things. Acton is very near Long Melford so give it a look if you are ever that way.

A lovely craft venue

When I was out on my travels today I found this lovely craft venue at Acton near Long Melford.
There were some exciting classes so I think I shall be signing up for some soon.
The shop had some really exciting goodies if you are in to textile art, felting, beading, crochet or knitting.
